Yoga is not about self-improvement, it’s about self-acceptance. - Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa
As a dedicated overachiever and proud perfectionist, I needed yoga. STAT!
I was first introduced to Moksha Hot Yoga in Edmonton where I was working for luluemon while dancing, choreographing and learning the art of becoming an anxiety-ridden stress case. At the time, I knew I was up for the physical challenge of yoga- but words like “mindfulness” and “prana” were far from my vocabulary. Then, something magical started to happen- I actually started to slow down and create moments of stillness in my life. For a girl who was told to “slow down” since I was 2 year old, this was new; and it felt amazing!
For years, my practice was my “treat”; the place where I didn’t judge, compare, or attempt to perfect myself….for the most part (hey, it’s called PRACTICE for a reason!).
Knowing the deepest, most satisfying moments in my life come from teaching, supporting, and connecting with people, I knew I needed a career transition. Au revoir Marketing desk, hello stretchy pants!
In 2014, I became a 500-hour certified Yoga Teacher and have since added Yin Yoga to my credentials. I have had the privilege of sharing yoga with a wide range of ages, athletes and abilities. My personal belief:
Can you breathe? Great! You can do yoga.
Whether it is first time Yogis, or full-time Yoga practitioners- I am wholeheartedly dedicated to supporting people on and off the mat. I continue to be excited and honoured to be a part of every Yoga students practice.
